Around the World in 80 Oysters

In March 2020, as the world came to a standstill, nearly all my planned oyster trips for the year were canceled. With travel off the table and isolation the new norm, it felt like the perfect time to connect virtually with oyster friends around the world.

Between April and October, we embarked on a virtual oyster tour across 25 countries, speaking with 25 enthusiasts, experts, shuckers, and growers. Together, we explored the oyster culture of each region—its past, present, and the possibilities for its future.
